Microfinance 101

Join the Center for International Development at Point Loma Nazarene University and the San Diego Microfinance Alliance for Microfinance 101 every Tuesday in October, 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Fermanian Room 104. In addition to learning about the field of microfinance from academics and practitioners you will have the opportunity to network with like-minded students and professionals. You can also enjoy snacks for purchase from a local food vendor who is a microfinance client from 5:30pm to 6:00pm before the classes begin. This unique opportunity can help expand your knowledge of domestic and international microfinance as well as provid you with a chance to hear directly from both microfinance lenders and their clients.

· Week 1: October 5 - Introduction to Financing
· Week 2: October 12 - Introduction to Microfinance
· Week 3: October 19 - Introduction to Microfinance in the U.S.
· Week 4: October 26 - Hear from the Clients & Meet the Organizations
At the beginning of each class there will be a short Q&A with a client of a local microfinance organization. The course also includes panel discussions with microfinance experts, and hands-on learning activities to provide everything you want to know about Microfinance.
