Steve is Associate Dean of Undergraduate Business Programs and a Professor of Economics and at the University of San Diego, where he joined the faculty in the fall 2004. Dr. Conroy also served as the Faculty Director of the Center for Peace of Commerce at the University of San Diego from 2012 – 2015. His research interests include economics of poverty, microfinance, housing and real estate economics, economics of education, business ethics, and economics of aging. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in applied microeconomics and gets students involved in microfinance projects both in and outside the classroom. “Microfinance needs a social mission. Robert teaches International Development, International Business, and Leadership at Point Loma Nazarene University. As Director of the Center for International Development, Robert mentors students, supports faculty, and engages the external community in the study and application of holistic business practices to alleviate global poverty. Robert is a founding member of the Alliance, serves on the Advisory Board, and has taught the Microfinance 101 course and helped coordinate the Microfinance 102 course in years past. With a background in small business lending and non-profit program management, Kaitlan is passionate about creatively engaging for-profit and non-profit professionals who share an interest in using their skills to do good in the world. In her role at Mission Edge San Diego, Kaitlan manages the fiscal sponsorship practice which provides operational support in the areas of finance and human resources to projects that are actively engaging in philanthropic activities but that are not established as an existing nonprofit with an independent 501(c)(3) designation. Kaitlan was previously the Microenterprise Program Manager at the International Rescue Committee where she oversaw the program’s microfinance lending and business counseling efforts in San Diego. Kaitlan has a B.S. in Anthropology from Miami University and is fluent in two languages.

Susan Lamping is the Vice President of Community Lending at CDC Small Business Finance where she has overseen the Community Lending activities since 2001. Mrs. Lamping has a wide variety of experience in the international and development fields including living in Nepal for two years while serving with the United States Peace Corps. She is proficient in three languages and enjoys supporting small business owners by providing access to business financing. She is a founding member of the San Diego Microfinance Alliance and served as the Summit Planning Committee Chair from 2010-2015.

Anna is the Founder of the EPTEAM Network at the University of California, San Diego. The EPTEAM is an action-oriented group dedicated to combining the benefits of education and microfinance with the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty for impoverished families. Chris has been with the University of San Diego since 1996 and his service-learning, community development, and social responsibility background includes microfinance, fair trade, corporate social responsibility, developing civil rights and social justice education, and facilitating diversity and inclusion trainings. Chris was selected as one of 50 “America’s Leaders of Change” by the National Urban Fellows and is a founding member of the San Diego Microfinance Alliance.

Ms. Schott joined Accion San Diego in 2004 and as CEO is currently responsible for overall strategic developmental and operational areas of the organization, in addition to board development, human resources, and fundraising. She brings almost 15 years of project and organizational development, strategic marketing and public relations experience to the organization. She received her B.A. in Communications with a Minor in Spanish from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC and is also a graduate of the 2012 Fieldstone Foundation’s Executive Learning Group Leadership Training Program and the 2014 Coaching Program. Schott is a 2012 3rd place winner of the SD Advance Fast Pitch Competition by Social Venture Partners and was recognized with San Diego Metro’s 40 under 40 Award in 2014. She has participated in a variety of small business organizations and committees throughout San Diego and is a founding member of the San Diego Microfinance Alliance.
